Within each room of the former Pieter Baan prison, intercom devices are mounted on the walls, once used to communicate and govern the inmates.

Aurélia Noudelmann developed a virtual map from the motherboard of the intercom system. She then converted and scripted data on the inmates’ periods of incarceration into animated chimeras that evolve within this labyrinthic environment. Alongside this circular and endless loop of timetrapped forms, a kinetic sculpture readdresses systemic durations into a weaved grid, which interlaces itself regarding inmates’ detention and release dates.
